After an exciting opening day of paracanoe racing on Wednesday, day two promises to be more of the same with the Australian team looking to add to the silver medal won by Queensland paracanoeist Kara Kennedy overnight.
The paracanoe finals will continue today with Glenn Pyne, Brock Ingram and Amanda Drennan all set to feature with the men’s TA K1 200 to kicks things off from 10:15pm AUS EST.
Before the paracanoe finals continue eight senior canoe sprint paddlers will get their chance to open their accounts with the K1, K2 and C1 1000 and 500 heats to be raced on Thursday.
2008 Beijing K1 500 gold medallist Ken Wallace will be the first Australian to enter the water in Duisburg, Germany today for heat three of the coveted men’s K1 1000.
He will be followed by Marius Florian in the C1 1000 and Alana Nicholls in the K1 500 heats.
Two members of the London Olympic K4 1000 gold medal winning crew, Murray Stewart and Jacob Clear will contest the K2 1000 heats. While Naomi Flood will combine with World Cup partner Bernadette Wallace in the women’s K2 500.
U23 duo Alyce Burnett and Amy Peters will then contest the women’s K2 1000 heats, with the latter making her senior World Championships debut.
The semifinals for each of the heats will be contested in the afternoon session following the paracanoe finals. Please check the schedule below and links to LIVE results and start list for more information.
