The 2013 Australian Canoe Marathon Teams for the World Games in Cali, Colombia and the ICF World Canoe Marathon Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark have been announced (subject to ratification by the Australian Canoeing Board).
Canoeing Western Australia and their band of merry volunteers exerted great efforts to host a successful 2013 Australian Canoe Marathon Championships.
Pleasant weather over the course of the weekend saw some close racing across all classes. From the young (under 10) to the more mature (over 70), the event was battled out on the Swan River. Race headquarters based at the Ascot Kayak Club provided the perfect foundation for the championships.
Many thanks to the volunteers who were superbly coordinated by Jane Tempest. Peter Martin the championship Competition Manager spent many months in preparation for the event.
