Australian Canoeing is seeking a person in the position of Projects Coordinator. This position is a full-time role, with an initial contract for 12 months (subject to a 3 month probation period) with possibility for renewal for a further term.

Australian Canoeing (AC) is the national sporting organisation responsible for the management, coordination, development and promotion of paddle sports in Australia. AC is committed to the provision of a high standard of competition, safety, and opportunity for participation in paddle sports in Australia. AC aims to provide all members with fair competition, access to high standard facilities and equity in participation at all levels.

The Projects Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate all aspects of Australian Canoeing Awards Scheme (ACAS) programs.
  • Coordinating all aspects of Paddling Australia and Ocean Racing Australia.
  • Providing proactive, efficient and informed membership services to affiliated State / Territory bodies, registered members and stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the coordination of project based tasks such as AGM, Annual Report, Awards Dinner and Strategic Forum.

Desirable

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in related field.
  • An understanding of and experience in the Vocational Education and Training initiatives.
  • Excellent organisational skills as well as a thorough attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
  • Sound computer skills as well as knowledge of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in membership database applications will be highly regarded.
  • Proven ability to work in a small team office environment.
  • Working with committees and managing / dealing with volunteers.
  • The ability to rapidly acquire knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of national and state government sport and recreation systems.
