| Flatwater (Inland) Skills Award | |||
| Holders of the Flatwater Skills Award have demonstrated that they can competently paddle a kayak and/or canoe during a trip, as part of a group of peers, on flat, sheltered, undemanding water. This Award is a pre-requisite to becoming an AC Flatwater Guide or Instructor. | |||
| Canoe / Kayak Lifeguard Award | |||
| Holders of the Canoe/Kayak Lifeguard award have been assessed as and are qualified to manage a paddling activity in controlled situations, performing rescues as required, where the group do not leave the immediate launch area. | |||
| Flatwater (Inland) Guide Award | |||
| Holders of the Flatwater Guide Award are qualified to lead or guide trips on inland waters such as open lakes and rivers (but not on whitewater or sea) in controlled conditions for inland kayaking and canoeing. | |||
| Flatwater (Inland) Instructor Award | |||
| Holders of the Inland Instructor (Level 1) Award are qualified to instruct, facilitate skill transfer to develop participants in order so that they may act independently or with minimal supervision in controlled conditions for inland kayaking and canoeing. | |||
