Canoe Polo

Canoe Polo is an exciting team event played on 35m x 23m pitches set up in swimming pools or on flat stretches of water. Teams of 5 paddlers endeavour to score goals in a net suspended 2m above the water, the ball being thrown by hand, or 'flicked' with the paddle. Naturally, the team with the most goals at the end of the match wins the game. Find out more about Canoe Polo.

Canoe Polo Australia Day Weekend Competition (this Saturday)
Please be reminded that the Australia Day Weekend Competition is this Saturday 23rd Jan 2010 and games start at 9AM. It is recommended that people arrive around 8:30AM to allow for time to find a park and to transport kayaks and gear to the field. Games finish at 6PM.

Boat, Paddle and Ball, A History of Canoe Polo
		The thrills and spills of today’s canoe polo stand in sharp contrast to its beginnings as summer fun on the water. For many the game is new, with its birth the demonstration games at Duisberg, Germany in 1987. But for over 100 years before this, different games of boat, paddle and ball were played in Europe.
