The Sydney Northern Beaches paddler won the open K1 500, K2 500, K4 500, K1 200 and K2 200 events in a dominant performance.
Brigden-Jones was happy with her return at the event.
“Yeah I was pleased with my performances at states.”
“I have only just returned from shoulder surgery and I feel like I am improving every session and race.”
Since the conclusion of the NSW Open Sprint Championships Brigden-Jones has been busy training amongst a large group on the Gold Coast.
Under the guidance of National Women’s sprint Coaches David Foureur and Anna Wood the camp has been centred on team boat combinations with members from the junior, U23 and senior crews in attendance.
“We have done a lot of work on different K2 combinations paddling with people we usually wouldn’t paddle with.”
“I think it has been really good for the junior and U23 athletes.”
“It has really opened up their eyes of what is required to compete at the next level and what they need to improve on.”
Brigden-jones will continue to put in the hours on and off the water in preparation for the Oceania Championships from 28th February to 2nd March.
