Selection Race 1 – Childowlah Rapid Murrumbidgee River NSW
Free Camping is available on the farm right next to the River. There are no facilities provided other than the organizing Committee will be arranging for a Port-Loo to be on site from around midday on the 27th December until midday the 28th December being the conclusion of racing.
Participants will need to bring their own fresh drinking water and most likely there will be no mobile reception.
The nearest major centre for provisions if heading south to the venue is Yass and if heading north from VIC is Gundagai.
Directions off the Hume Highway to the venue are as follows:
Turn left at the village of Bookham (if heading south) or right (if heading north.
Take an immediate right turn at the T intersection and drive for a couple of hundred metres down the road and then take a left turn into Childowlah Road.
Stay on this road all the way to the campsite. The tar eventually turns to dirt and at that point it is approximately 8.5 kilometres to the gate on the right hand side into the rapid.
From the gate it is quite close (about 50 metres) to the river and the rapid which can be clearly seen.
