Position Vacant – NSWIS Slalom Coach

Australian Canoeing is looking for a dynamic and energetic high performance coach to join its canoe slalom coaching team at the National Centre of Excellence in Penrith, NSW Australia.

The Canoe Slalom National Centre of Excellence (NCE) is a successful medal winning program that combines the resources and expertise of the Australian Institute of Sport and the New South Wales Institute of Sport.

This full time position is employed through the Australian Canoeing high performance program and supported through the New South Wales Institute of Sport partnership at the NCE.

As the National High Performance Coach (NSWIS) you will work with the Head Coach, Senior High Performance Coach and Program Manager at the NCE office in Penrith.

With a proven high level of expertise and success in all aspects of training and coaching canoe slalom athletes, you will be able to work as part of this high performance team, maximising opportunities and services to achieve optimum athlete development and performance. In addition to coaching identified athletes or squads in Australia, you will be required to travel extensively and attend international camps and competitions as a member of the Australian Canoe
Slalom Team.

The position is available from January 2013 and through to December 2016 with significant professional development opportunities available through the New South Wales Institute of Sport and Australian Institute of Sport.
